Overview
The MS Islamic Studies aims to offer high-quality education focusing on research excellence, development of ethical norms, prepare students to meet challenges of the modern era, and foster demand-driven education for all. The academic program is envisioned primarily for the students who desire an intensive introduction to Islamic thought and primary Islamic sources to elaborate solutions for the issues and challenges faced by the contemporary Muslim world.
Eligibility Requirements for Admission in MS/MPhil(Fall 2024)
1. Sixteen years of schooling or 4 year education (minimum 120 credit hours) after HSSC/F.A./ F.Sc./Grade 12.
2. Admission test is an eligibility condition for admission to MS/MPhil, with a passing score of 60%. ICBS accept the GRE/HAT General/Equivalent tests, with a passing score of 50%.
The intra disciplinary admission also is allowed subject to fulfillment of the requirements as per Graduate Education Policy, 2023 of HEC
Eligibility Requirements for Admission in Ph.D. (Fall 2024)
- MS/MPhil or equivalent degree (Eighteen Years of Education) with or without Research
- Admission test is an eligibility condition for admission to Ph.D., with a passing score of 70%. ICBS accept the GRE/HAT General/Equivalent tests, with a passing score of 60%.
- The intra disciplinary admission also is allowed subject to fulfillment of the requirements as per Graduate Education Policy, 2023 of HEC.
- Minimum CGPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0 in the semester system) or 60% (in the annual system) in the MS/MPhil/equivalent degree
OR
Admission is allowed if CGPA is below 3.00 (out of 4.0 in the semester system) or 60% marks (in the annual system) as per HEC Graduate Education Policy, 2023 subject to fulfillment of Clause 3.3 of HEC Graduate Policy.
Applicants shall be required to submit a Research proposal with admission form.

Admission Criteria:
- BA/ BS (Hons) Islamic Studies with CGPA 2.50/ 4.00 in semester system
- MA Islamic Studies or equivalent degree in the relevant subject with CGPA 2.50/4.00 or second division in the annual system from an HEC recognized university/ Degree Awarding Institute (DAI)
- Al-Shahdah Al-Aalmiyah (with HEC equivalence certificate) from any HEC recognized wafaq or institution
